We’re still spiffing up to get ready for the big show, don’t mind us, but we hope you’ll come on in and take a look around. Check out the rules for the game, our forms for submitting winning phrases and signing your blog up for future games, and our feedback form. Please look over our site policies.
Tomorrow Heather, our Ring Master, will post the first clue will at 1 p.m. eastern time. Each subsequent clue will be posted in 10 minute increments. There are 6 clues in all. Come and play at the time of posting or come whenever you can during the next 24 hours. The game stays open for a whole day, and people can play at their leisure and try for that elusive Best Comment Award. If you play at posting time, you're more likely to win the coveted First Place Medal, for being the first to submit Jon's unscrambled phrase. We would love to hear your experience of how the game works both ways. After that winners will be determined and a recap will be published on Thursday. Let the games begin!
In Ring Number One you got our three practice runs. You’ll see the three of us taking turns in the ringleading role leading our carnies-in-crime around the blogosphere, choreographing our dance. See the posts labeled practice.
In Ring Number Two there is the recap where Tina, as a master of ceremonies, presents our performance complete with links to the sights Jon (or his proxy) visited based on the clues from the practice round. Click through to admire the glitter. See the posts titled recap.
In Ring Number Three is the peanut gallery, and by the peanut gallery, we mean you. Make yourself known. Yes, we encourage comments from you! Heckle away. Without you, there would be no us.
So, how are you? You ready to play, Tuesday, March 9th at 1PM, Eastern time? (That's 10 AM on the West Coast :)) Give us a good heckle, let us know you're here!

Again, welcome and thank you for coming in today! Don't be shy, feel free to comment on anything. Whether it's a post, new or old, or a feature you have questions about. Let us know! We are truly thankful!
ReplyDeleteI'm so stupidly excited about this...seriously, I'm going to be burning rubber after picking my daughter up from preschool tomorrow. Hopefully I'll make it back in time so I can start at 1pm!
ReplyDeleteThis is a genius idea by the way! Can't wait to see what awesome blogs you guys send me too :-)
Okay, I'm already feeling overwhelmed. I don't have a math brain. And I read the early clues, and I really wouldn't have known where to go. Did I miss something?
ReplyDeleteI'll check in and try. But I have a low frustration level (blame my dad and feel bad for my kids who inherited it.)
Dena--We've had a ton of fun doing the hunts. I hope you have fun tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteLaura--Math is definitely not a prerequisite. Hopefully it won't be frustrating tomorrow, but I think there might be a learning curve. I hope that you try it again, even if tomorrow feels confusing. And, if you don't want to do it with the pressure of time, you can try it later, at your leisure. You have 24 hours to complete the game. (And you probably have more chance of winning best comment if you take your time a bit.)
ReplyDeleteDena- Yay. I am really excited as well. Glad you can make it tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteOh No, Laura! But I totally relate! And when I played my adrenaline was totally going and I was sweating! I knew you would give great feedback, and already you have! Yay. There are some clues in the recaps about different ways we all three went about solving these. I relied heavily on Google, and Jon had a totally different approach. I believe our run has also changed as we practiced (either that or I've gotten better?). I hope you'll give it a try and feel free to take your time!!!! As we say at our house, for science!
Dena - Now you know why I've been a little MIA regarding critiques. Thanks for supporting us!
ReplyDeleteLaura - There will be no math. I repeat: THERE WILL BE NO MATH.
sweet mother of god!!! Don't scare me with talk of MATHHHHHHHHH
ReplyDeleteThings are going to get crazy tomorrow! I'm super competitive, just to warn all the other participants!
ReplyDeleteMariah--bring it on!
ReplyDeleteThere might be no math but there were more than 3 steps involved. I have a slow learning curve. Honestly, I'm pushing to get my queries out and refining them. Hopefully, I'll have some down time and can play. I don't know if it will be at 1pm. I'll come later when all the clues are posted. And I forgot to mention that it is a cute idea to get writer/bloggers to connect. I hope you had fun doing it!
ReplyDeleteLaura--sounds great. Come at your leisure. I hope that the querying process is going well. The last thing that we would ever want is to add to your stress!
ReplyDeleteLET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete...in an hour and a half.
Woo-hoo!
