Welcome Friends! W.I.B.I.J.?! Race #1 (Presented by Heather)

Welcome friends from far and near,
Thanks for taking time; for being here.

First, some business, before we play,
Disqualification for all who stray!

Sign in at the comments down below,
New clues, every 10, after you go.

Leave Respectful words at each new place,
Stay On Blog Topic--or you're out of this race.

Collect Jon's clues from the comment pile,
Visible by their CAPITAL style.

Return again, comment that you're done,
Submit your phrase, maybe you've won!

There's not much more for you to know.
Welcome to the circus; away we go!

Today Jon is visiting business blogs, to and fro.
Agents, Editors, Publishers, in the know.

(Playing at business blogs is a bit less disruptive, you see.
Next time, we drive readership to your blog, masterfully.)

Clue #1 @ 1:00 EST

It's an informative place, that's for sure.

As far as the crow flies, or just a bit more,
All her authors, Sara invites to post.
Welcome to the nest, she's a wonderful host.

Clue #2 @ 1:10

Now that you've left your first comment--felt a part of the game,

Or maybe you didn't solve number one; still, feel no shame.
However, there might be shame at number two.
If pimping your novel isn't easy for you.

Clue #3 @ 1:20

It's not WIBIJ these days without visiting that scary sword wielding gal,

Describing a font dork moment, while channeling her Gollum pal.
I'm sure she won't reject a WIBIJ author-friend.
Especially since a gay werewolf fairy novel is exactly what you've penned.

Clue #4 @ 1:30

A spin-off of two is number four.

If math's not your thing than science may be a bore.
But, the science of romance novels, surely you jest.
Regardless, Laura, we think you are the best!

Clue #5 @ 1:40

The Amazing Race always has an equalizing flight

A long wait so others can catch up, put you in their sight.
Here is ours, so patience to skim Monday's post must be found.
Just remember, Nathan does it every day, with nary a sound.

*Now enter your unscrambled phrase over on the right, double check that you've left an on-topic comment at each game blog, sign out in comments below, leave feedback on the form on the right, and sign up your blog for a future game!

THIS GAME IS OPEN FOR A FULL 24 HOURS, DURING WHICH JON WILL BE LOOKING FOR THE BEST COMMENT OUT THERE!!

We'll see you Thursday for the recap, award ceremony, and medals! Do you think you won? Best get an acceptance speech ready!

****We try to always post on the most recent post, but occasionally, someone will post a new blog post during a game. It's always prudent to check a few posts.****

  26. Ha! Welcome back! This has been such a fun race. The jury is still out. Dena may have got the first phrase in but the game still goes on. Play and get your comments in and there are already some brilliant ones out there to look at. You two are some eloquent commentors!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I feel like I'm missing a word for the secret phrase. Am I supposed to add one that has to do with the theme of the game?

    ReplyDelete
  28. No--you should have picked up a working phrase. If you think you might have missed a word somewhere, take a look back at the game blogs and see.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Well, it's a silly phrase. And seven words.

    ReplyDelete
  30. We will return with a wrap up to this exciting race on Thursday and include all that comes after. Please come one and all and play all day. Thank you, Mariah and Dena for playing right now!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Awesome! Signing out... have to go do some laundry!

    ReplyDelete
  33. awesome! Thanks, guys! It was so much fun! You did a great job!

Got to go take care of the kiddies now!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Dena - Congrats, félicitations, поздравления, felicitaciones, congratulazioni!! The blogoshpere will hereby remember today as the day you became our very first winner. Not only did you come in first place, you left excellent comments along the way.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Welcome to the game, Laura! Excited to see you. Can I help you out?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Mariah - You may have started a few minutes late, but you certainly caught right up, how impressive! Your comments are glittery and certainly set the bar high for our subsequent participants. Nice!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Speaking of subsequent participants, welcome Laura! I am excited to see you guys come in and join us. Remember the game stays open until 1PM tomorrow afternoon. Dena may have won first place, but the award for BEST COMMENT is up for grabs. Grab your bottle of glitter and put on your thinking caps and keep the game going!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I also have to give a shout out to my circusy partners in crime, Tina and Heather, for keeping the game going as I went around the blogosphere. I hope to one day share some flyer miles with them.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Woo-hoo--a Jon sighting at WIBIJ itself! Thanks for stopping by, Jon! And, welcome to everyone who's starting their game now! Who will win the coveted Best Comment Award, I wonder?

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'm stopping, at least for now. I have no clue what clue 3 is. An agent's blog?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Laura, that is a wonderful comment out there at clue one!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Laura, there is a hint heading your way!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'm here! I'm about to get started.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Casey--nice comments. You're quick and supportive. And already at stop number two!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Done! That was fun. : ) Love the idea.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Great, Casey! Perfect. Thanks for playing!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Thanks for the hint. I actually, looked at that blog Heather but didn't see any of the clues on the page. I didn't think of googling the phrases. Next time, I will.

Um, now I'm trying to unscramble the sentence with no success. I'll submit it if my brain can work. I think I've been working too hard.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Oh No! What do you mean? There's never a mess up here! We are so flexi! (Jon has to tell me this regularly as I am always messing up behind the scenes!)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Laura--you found all the right blogs. I don't think you messed up. Email me if we've done something that's confusing!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I know! I know! I'm late to the game! I'm ready to comment and explore even though I know I'm not a sparkly winner! (Congrats, Dena!)

    ReplyDelete
  51. You are such a trouper, Kelly! But you never know what is in store, as they say, it ain't over 'til the blogger lady recaps(and Jon speaks his piece as well)!

    ReplyDelete
  52. I"m stumped on number three! I googled main words in the clue and I have no idea!
But I do want to say I am so impressed with this. I had no idea this was such a spectacle! I don't know how I didn't even realize it was it's own blog! I think you all are going to get lots of traffic ( and fun ) on this. Whoever wrote the rhyming clues is very clever!!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Wow, I go away for a while and the stands fill up! I am impressed with everyone's positive attitude. We did trial runs and while they were surely entertaining, I found myself uber frustrated. I, and I am sure I speak on behalf of Tina and Heather, would like to extend a HUGE THANK YOU (no not a clue) to all of today's participants and to the people who will come in tonight and tomorrow.

If reading this comment thread makes you run the other way, watch out for the lions because the clues are really the best way out of here.

I hope you have filled out the feedback form. We need to know every detail, every confusion, and every blond moment, that is if you would like to entertain us. The feedback form is anonymous, so we won't question the authenticity of your hair color.

Again, thanks for being our guinea pigs and trusting us to not throw you to the cats.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Okay, finally gave feedback and am signing out.
I just found it hard to make a sentence out of the words. I felt like an article was missing. We'll see when you reveal the answer.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Okay, I just read that there were 7 words. I thought there was only one capitalized word in each clue, so I must have missed some. That's why I had a hard time unscrambling. Duh.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Laura, I picked the phrase and had a hard time unscrambling it, so don't you fret! Glad you stuck with it!

    ReplyDelete
  57. I'm late because I work the night shift and slept all day, but this looks like so much fun!!!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Tina Lynn-you are actually right on time. The game lasts until 1 PM Wednesday, so go right ahead and play. Not all the awards have been won!

    ReplyDelete
  59. I've figured out four of five
    But can't play today
    That's no Jive

    I'm out the door
To soak in a Hot Spring.
    But this looks like fun
    Way better than Bling Bling!

    Congrats in Advance
    To all who have played.
    If my schedule allowed
    I sure would've stayed!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Gosh, Paul! That comment has get to earn you some kind of honorable mention. Playing or not! Thanks for that!!
